No. Shivnex Parent is free and has no payment screen — it never asks for a card, UPI ID or bank details. Your school pays for the service; parents are never charged, and never charged per minute. Any hostel billing happens separately through its own usual channels, never inside this app.

Yes, please do. Uninstall the older file-installed copy, then install Shivnex Parent from Google Play. The store version updates itself, which the file-installed one cannot do.
Only as a fallback for pilot guardians on a device or network where Google Play is unavailable or blocked. It is the same version as the Play Store release. If Google Play works on your phone, use Google Play.
